Under Clubbing is the Real Villain
Pillar 2 – Short is Wrong, Right is Long
The Hard Truth
If you miss greens short all day, it’s not ‘bad contact.’ It’s your club choice.
We call out the most common reason why you’re missing greens short all the time. It’s because most golfers pick the club they must swing harder. Then they come up short and act surprised. Swinging ‘harder’ only creates tension, slowing your body and the club down. Harder swings are slower swings, producing less ball speed and shorter distances Your club selection choices should be in question, not your ball striking.
Want to break 90 more often? Then….

Do This Now
- Pick the club that carries the trouble with a NORMAL swing.
- When in doubt, take more club. Smooth beats forced.
- Stop aiming at pins when short is dead. Aim middle/safe side.
- Eliminate any other decisions that will result in you missing greens
Quick Drill
After 9 holes, count how many approach shots finished short of the green. That’s your underclubbing bill.
