Smart Long Miss

Where to Aim When You Take More Club

Pillar #2 – Short is Wrong and Right is Long

The Hard Truth

Taking more club doesn’t mean firing at the flag. It means planning the long miss.
If you don’t plan the miss, the miss plans you.

Do This Now

• Identify the safest long area (back fringe, uphill chip, open side).
• Aim away from back hazards and OB.
• Commit to normal tempo. Don’t baby it.

Quick Drill

• Course walk drill: on 3 approach shots, choose the safest ‘long miss’ zone before you select club.
