Stop Loving the 60 Degree Wedge

It’s Not Your Friend Yet

Pillar #4 – Tipping Your Hat to Chipping

The Hard Truth

It’s tough love when you use only your 60 degree wedge. You may not have earned the right to use this wedge just yet. It’s a weapon you have that can backfire on you.

If you shoot 85–105, your 60 degree wedge is more likely to create disasters than miracles.

Do This Now

• Default to bump-and-run shots when you can.
• Use the 60 only when you MUST carry something and have no green.
• If you choose it, commit to acceleration. No fear swings.

When you have more green to roll the ball onto, why use a 60-degree wedge? Opt for the bump-and-run chip shot instead.

Quick Drill

• Rule: if you have 10+ yards of green, do not use the 60. Period!
