The Between Clubs Rule for 85 to 105 Golfers
Pillar 2 – Short is Wrong, Right is Long
The Hard Truth
Being ‘between clubs’ is not a personality test. And it’s not a test of your strength. But it is a math test. And your ability to do the math will ultimately determine if you make the right decision to take one more club. When it comes to how far your golf clubs hit a golf ball in the air.
If you’re a mid-handicapper, your misses are not ‘long.’ Your misses are ‘short and punished!’ Yes, you’re punishing yourself when you miss short due to you failing a simple math test of how far your shots carry with each golf club.
Want to stop coming up short? Take one more club!
Then Do This Now
- Between clubs? Take the longer club.
- Swing your stock tempo. No hero speed.
- Aim for the safe side so a long miss is still okay.
Quick Drill
Make a note after each ‘between clubs’ shot: did you go long, short, or pin-high? Build proof that you do need to take one more club.
