Two Comfort Circles

The Putting System that Actually Drops Scores

Pillar 3 • Putting Adds Up Quickly

The Hard Truth

If you shoot 85–105, you don’t need a ‘new stroke.’ You need fewer 3-putts.

That means two comfort circles: one for short putts you should make, and one for long-putt distance control.

Do This Now

comfort circle putting, reduce 3 putts, putting system for 90s golfers, Two comfort circles
Learning to make more putts inside your closest comfort circle builds the confidence you need for the larger circle putts to come to rest inside the smaller of the two comfort circles.
  • Short circle: build confidence at 3 feet first, then expand.
  • Long circle: learn to roll first putts to the hole (or just past) so the comeback is inside your short circle.

Quick Drill

  • Track it: how many first putts finish inside 3 feet? That number predicts your scores.
